Perfect Day at Twin RiversActivities

Outdoor activities are limited only by one's imagination: fishing, swimming, rafting, boating or gold panning are just a few. Hike along the river's edge often shared with curious wildlife and watch eagles and osprey soar above the river below.

Fishing:   Fishing at Twin Rivers Canyon Resort and the surrounding area is a year-round activity. The Moyie and Kootenai Rivers are both renowned as premier trout streams. Lunker rainbows over 20 pounds have come out of the Kootenai with a few tackle busters exceeding 30 pounds! Great prehistoric sturgeon also frequent the Kootenai adding to its mystique.

A Big CatchBoth rivers are productive for fly fisherman as well as bait and spinning anglers. Numerous small mountain lakes and streams add to the list of choices of local fishing water, several of them less than half an hour away. Species of fish include Rainbow, Cutthroat, Eastern Brook and Kokanee trout as well as Northern Whitefish, large mouth bass, perch, crappie, blue gill and tiger muskie.

In addition to the public waters which we can help the fisherman find, Twin Rivers has an array of rafts to get them closer to the fish.

Fun in the SunSwimming:   Water activities at Twin Rivers Canyon Resort are many and varied. Our private fresh water lake is certainly a hub of activity during warm weather. There is nothing like a cool swim on a hot summer day and our guests find the clean sandy beach and swimming dock enjoyable for family members of all ages. Shade trees and lawn encircle the lake and invite you to spread your blanket and relax between swims or while watching the kids.

Mini GolfersMini Golf:  A 13-hole miniature golf course has recently been added to the growing list of "things to do" at Twin Rivers Canyon Resort. Our challenging layout is an entertaining way for people of all ages and skill levels to spend an evening or the day.

Rafting the KootenaiRafting:  For water enthusiasts who might enjoy river rafting, our beautiful streams provide excitement and entertainment choices for just about everyone. In the spring the upper Moyie River is considered a prime white water challenge while the big Kootenai, although much slower, offers all season floating through miles of roadless splendor between forested canyon walls teaming with osprey, eagles and countless forms of wildlife. For a very affordable fee our guests may rent a raft for the day and we will provide them with shuttle service by auto or truck to a launching area up river from which they can float back down to our park. This trip is self-guided at your own leisurely pace and is considered a vacation highlight by those who have taken it.

Wildlife & Bird Watching:   A Curious VisitorSurrounded as we are by forest and water, Twin Rivers just naturally remains a haven for a multitude of game species as well as countless birds. A year round home to white tail deer with frequent visits by mule deer, elk, and moose, this area also supports migratory water fowl, upland game girds and hundreds of song birds.
